Sara Belle "Sally" Weber, 80, of Long Point, IL passed away at 5:20 p.m. on March 27, 2015 at Lee Memorial Hospital in Cape Coral, Florida with her family by her side.

Sally was born at home in Minonk, Illinois on Feb. 11, 1935 where she was the second of four children born to Virgil E. & Helen Everetts Dishinger. She was preceded in death by her parents and both brothers Richard "Dick" Dishinger & Virgil "Eddie" Dishinger Jr.

She married Raymond Weber Jr. of Long Point, IL on June 9, 1956. Together they welcomed and raised two children - Wayne & Sara. Their 58-year marriage was a happy and blessed one; she was the matriarch of her family in no uncertain terms.

Sally graduated from Minonk-Dana High School and went on to attend Illinois State Normal University in Normal, Illinois. Upon certification from ISNU she began her long and rewarding teaching career covering 35 years. Sally was known as a strict but excellent teacher. Her reputation earned the respect of her peers, administration and students alike. Throughout her career she taught in Wenona, Dana and finally the Minonk school systems. Retirement called in 1992 and she never looked back.

Words & opinions were never scarce for Sally, nor were Texas Chocolate cakes, rhubarb pies, Mickey Mouse pancakes, delicious home-cooked meals, cheers at sporting events, laughs, smiles, and love. Sally was a proud & dedicated farm wife to Ray and fiercely loyal to her family and friends. As a Mom and Grandma, you couldn't ask for more. Her personality was large and welcoming and friendly; she never knew a stranger. When she wasn't with people, reading was her passion.

Sally and Ray created many memories camping and traveling with their kids, grandkids and friends. They were also part of a card club that spanned more than 50 years. In the warm seasons they enjoyed their farm in central Illinois and then wintered at their home in St. James City, Florida during the cold ones.

Sally is survived by her devoted husband, Ray, of Long Point, IL and their children Wayne (Colleen) Weber of Minonk and Sara Sparkman of East Peoria. She is the grandmother of Cody (Lindsay) Weber of Bloomington, Logan Weber of Minonk, Abby Weber of Normal, and Dylan & Derek Sparkman of East Peoria. Also surviving are her sister, Mary Lou Dishinger of Moline, IL and in-laws Glen & Jeanne Weber, Stanley & Janice Weber, Carol & Randy Weiland, and Jane & David McCully as well as many nieces and nephews. From above, she will welcome her first great-grandchild in September 2015.

She was an active member of Long Point United Methodist Church. Both visitation and funeral services will be held at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk, Illinois. Visitation will be Thurs., April 9 from 4-7 p.m. and from 9-10 a.m. prior to the funeral service on Fri., April 10th at 10 a.m. Cremation was accorded and she will be buried in the Dana Cemetery, Dana, Illinois.
